British Edition Available

Having wended its way across the sea, apparently by sail, oar, or long distance swimmer, the British edition of my book is now available. Being used to the high price of British books, I was surprised how reasonable the pricing is.  Given the current state of the pound,  it is actually cheaper at amazon.co.uk than it is in the US, though that is partly because of the big initial discount. (which lasted all of a week)  British (and European readers) your time has come! (Though remember that you can still download or print the book non commercially for free — something that might be of particular interest to educational users who want to use as many open access textbooks as possible to keep down the cost of education, make educational materials more flexible and customizable, and make the material available beyond the classroom to the wider world.  The US based Campaign to Reduce College Textbook Costs has some really interesting arguments on the subject.)  To learn more about open education you can start here
